Lyda Cruden
Suzuki Teacher
Lyda Cruden is a violin and viola teacher and performer in the Triangle area. She studied at the Eastman School of Music, and earned degrees from Occidental College and the University of Missouri - Kansas City. For over 20 years, Lyda has had a large and thriving teaching studio of students as young as 3 years old to adults who might not want their age revealed.
Lyda was born and raised in Iowa and was a Suzuki kid at the Preucil School of Music in Iowa City. She brings the love of music and the Suzuki philosophy of nurturing every child to her teaching and students.
She has performed with the North Carolina Symphony, the Carolina Ballet Orchestra, the North Carolina Opera Orchestra, and many professional symphonies, chamber, and freelance groups in the Midwest, the Los Angeles area, and in North and South Carolina.
Lyda is a runner, loves to bake, work in her garden, and any chance she gets she and her husband head out on travel adventures near and far. Her happy places are hiking in mountains, or hanging on the couch with her husband and dog.
